Anyone who already paid for Twin Peaks 2008 will automatically be entered into the Dec 13th race. If you cannot make this date you may carry over your entry to the February 2009 race. If you check your waiver, you will find information on the no refund policy, since people have been asking me.

The 2008 course is an alternate course. Information on this course can be found below.

Twin Peaks 2008

Date: December 13th, 2008
Time: 6AM (50M), 7AM (50K)
Elevation Gain: Approx 7,700 (50K)  12,600 (50M)
Cutoff times: 50K (none), 50M (15 hours)
Early start (5AM) available upon request for 50 Mile race

Training Runs will take place in October & November (Dates TBD)

50K Course: Up Indian Truck Trail.  Main Divide to down West Horsetheif. Up Holy Jim to Main Divide to Santiago Peak.  Down via Upper Holy Jim then down to Indian Truck Trail then down to the finish

50M Course: Up Indian Truck Trail.  Main Divide to down West Horsetheif. Up Holy Jim to Main Divide to Santiago Peak.  Down via Upper Holy Jim then down  Holy Jim and up West Horsethief to Main Divide and back to Santiago Peak.  Back down via Upper Holy Jim to Indian Truck Trail then down to the finish

Awards:
All entrants will receive a t-shirt. Finishers will receive a finishers medal.
Prizes will be given to the top male and top female finisher in each race

Drop Bags:
You may leave bags at the start/finish line since you will be shuttled over from your car. For the 50 mile race you may bring a drop bag to the start and it will be transported to mile 27 for you. However, these bags will not be return to the finish area until about 3PM. In either case, make sure your bags are clearly labeled with your name and that the 27 mile drop bags also say "Holy Jim".

Race Rules:

  1. Have fun!
  2. Be Safe. There are many hazzards along the course including (but not limited to), mountain lions, rough terrain, rattle snakes, sharp clifs and drop offs, etc. It is your responsibily to run safe and stay alert.
  3. Except in case of medical emergency, runners may accept no aid nor assistance in any form from anyone, including pacers and crews, between checkpoints.
  4. Each runner must carry all of his own food, fluids, clothing, and other supplies needed for use between checkpoints.
  5. Littering of any kind is strictly prohibited. Littering will result in the immediate disqualification of the runner in this year's race, and for all future races.
  6. Runners are responsible for the actions of their crews and pacers.
  7. Participants must follow the marked trail at all times. Any runner departing from the official trail must return to the point of departure on foot before continuing.
  8. Each runner must be checked IN at EVERY aide stations. Runners not checked at each aide station may not be credited with officially finishing the Run.
  9. Lights are REQUIRED for any 50 mile runner not reaching the mile 41 aide station by 3PM (9 hours). You will not be allowed to finished without a light after 3PM. Lights may be dropped at this aide station (mile 9/41) toward the beginning of the race.
  10. Any entrant who is unable to finish the Race must personally inform personal at the nearest aid station of his or her decision to withdraw. You MUST turn in your race bib at this time. Runners who leave the course without turning in their bibs will be classified as "lost," and may be billed for charges incurred in any serach and rescue operation.
  11. Pacers are allowed in the 50 miles Race. They can only meet their runner at themile 27 aide station. Pacers should be experienced trail runners in excellent physical shape and conditioned adequately to run 23 miles over rough terrain. They are also responsible for their own transportation to and from the mile 27 aide station. Access is best via 4-wheel drive vehicle.
  12. 5 Minutes before each race there will be a pre-race briefing on the course and any last minute details. You MUST be present for the briefing for your race.
  13. Headphones are not recommended buy you may use them at your own risk.
  14. There will be a post-race meal provided in the finish area.
